Rafael Nadal will face Andy Murray at the 2011 ATP Monte Carlo event on Saturday in a semifinal match that features the world number one against the world number four.Murray has not done too badly against Nadal over the years however all of the Scot's four wins against Rafa have come on the hard court surface. On the clay court, Nadal is undefeated against Murray in terms of both matches played (2-0) and sets played (4-0).The last time that they met on clay was in the semifinals of the 2009 Monte-Carlo event. Murray played well in the second set of that match as he forced a tiebreaker however he did not really come close to beating Nadal as the first set was over quickly in that match.Nadal was actually playing poorly at the time, for his standards, as his loss in the round of 16 and subsequent hiatus from tennis proved and if Murray can't beat Nadal on clay when he's slightly off-form, then the Scot has little chance to beat Nadal now as the world number one hasn't lost on clay since the Robin Soderling injury-induced loss at Roland Garros 2009. Nadal advancing over Murray is the only prediction that can really be made and truthfully the Scot would do well just to force a third set on Saturday.
