John's last Wimbledon before he retired. Playing against Pat Cash, twice a finalist in the Australian Open and Wimbledon Champion in 1987. It was a thrilling match. Pat Cash played some great tennis but Magic Mac was playing at his best and excelled and after being two sets down at one point, he stepped up his level of play and came back to win this match 67, 64, 67, 63, 62.John won the hearts of the British press and media for once during this tournament. The newspapers couldn't say enough good things about his performance. Here was John, Unseeded at Wimbledon playing as good if not better tennis than he did when he was at his peak. Looking great in those T-shirts (Love the Wimbledon colours). A sad time for everyone though knowing it may have been the last chance they would get to see him play. Wimbledon 1992 was electric.
