After three glorious years with three consecutive finals against Boris Becker between 1988 and 1990, Stefan Edberg's decline affects his Wimbledon performances: in 1991 he goes out against Michael Stich in a semifinal ended with 6 points more than his opponent and never losing his serve; in 1992 an epic five-set battle in the quarter final against Goran Ivanisevic puts an end to his dream of a third Wimbledon crown; in 1993 it's Jim Courier who stops him in the semifinal, overpowering him with his hard returns; in 1994 Edberg goes out in the second round to Kenneth Carlsen after winning the first two sets; in 1995 he is beaten by Belgian giant Dick Norman and that defeat will urge him to announce his retire some months later; in 1996, in his last appearance, Stefan Edberg goes out to fellow countryman Mikael Tillstrom in four sets in the second round. Some memories from Edberg and his long-time coach Tony Pickard.
