Maria's good form in Rome is continuing as she defeated No.12 seed Shahar Peer of Israel 6-2 6-2 in 70 minutes to reach the quarters.Maria was down quickly 0-2 in the first set but she took six straight games to take the set 6-2 when Peer double-faulted.The good form from the first set continued in the second as Maria was always in control and needed two breaks to secure victory and won the match on a soaring backhand winner.In Friday's quarter-final, Maria will play either No.3 seed Victoria Azarenka of Belarus or No.16 seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia.
