Steffi Graf Tennis Lesson 2: Take note of how Steffi constructs the point at 30-All to hit a dropshot. She needs to clear space for the dropshot, which she plans to hit dtl. She does this by engaging Venus in a crosscourt backhand rally. She takes advantage of two facts: that Venus expects Steffi to hit her backhand crosscourt and that Venus doesn't want to engage Steffi's forehand. Steffi does such a good job of playing to Venus' expectations that she catches Venus flat-footed with the dropshot. Wimbledon 1999
