With a slogan of 'One World, Many Dreams', Tibetan exiles are planning their own Olympic games. Set for the northern city of Dharamsala, India, the Tibet games will run from May 15th to the 25th. [Lobsang Wangyal, Organiser Tibetan Olympics]: "Tibetan Olympics will be held from 15th to 25th of May. The reason for organizing the Tibet Olympics is that Tibet will not have representation in the Beijing Olympics which is a sad thing. Tibetans love sports and they respect international Olympics. They want to celebrate this spirit of International Olympics." The Tibetan Olympics will comprise 10 events with around 30 competitors. Young Tibetans are welcoming the idea. [Tenzin Lhundup, Tibetan Youth]: "We have a chance to play in the Olympic as we did not have. We have freedom to play in this Olympics." The Chinese regime is under increasing pressure over Tibet and its violent mis-handling of recent demonstrations. Yesterday, French President Nicolas Sarkozy urged China to show responsibility over the unrest in Tibet. The French President has refused to rule out a boycott of the games which begin on August 8th. [Nicolas Sarkozy, French President]: "All options are open but I appeal to the sense of responsibility of the Chinese authorities." France has called for an end to the violence, in which Tibet's government-in-exile says 140 people have been killed.
